CAUSE OF DIVORCE was founded by Rollo (drums, ex-ORGASMIC GROAN), Marc (voice, ex-OGASMIC GROAN) and Ivo (guitar, ex-FILE NOT FOUND) in early 2001 - just for fun. After a little while Christoph (guitar, ex-ABREAST) and Norman (bass, ex-ORGASMIC GROAN) completed the line up. Since starting the Band we had some Line-Up changes: After our bass-guitar-player Norman left the Band in 2006 - Niklas joined us in Spring 2007 and stayed until the End of 2009. Since then we have a new bass guitar player (Christian) who joined the Band in January 2010. In April 2010 our drummer Rollo left the band. Our friend Nuno (ex-ABREAST) took place instead of him. Although we need some time to practice with our new drummer, we’re looking forward to play live in autumn this year again... Our typical non-genre like grindattacks are due to our personally different musical predilections. We describe our music as “GRINDCORE FOR THE UNLOVED”, well knowing that we don’t play pure or typical Grindcore, but although we combine DeathMetal, Hardcore and other elements with grindattacks, we think that the heading “Grindcore” fits best for the music that we play. It is also not our intention to transport pompous messages and admonish our listeners, but we understand ourselves as a ‘political’ band and if our lyrics maybe stimulate some independent thoughts, than this is an desirable side-effect. But the main intention is the fun and love for extreme music! In 2002 we published our first demo called “GENOZID”, in 2004 “NON SERVIAM” our second demo followed. In 2007 we released our third demo”PHOBOPHOBIE”. All demos were published on CD-r (and tape) and in totally “ Do-it-yourself” manner, that was intentional. We also participate on some Underground-Compilations. 2010 we released our fourth Demo-CD ‘GRINDSTEIN’ and also our first 12” Split-LP ‘BARGAIN HUNTING’ with BANGSAT (Indonesia) - published by Truemmer-Pogo & Doomed to Extinction Records & BoelzCore Music. We always have tried to grind the stage as frequently as possible and as our leisure time allows. Since starting up the band we had the chance to play several gigs in Germany, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Belgium with bands like APATIA NO (VEN), LE SCRAWL, DEBAUCHERY, ONANIZER (CZ), DEWSCENTED, CHAINSAW (NL), TANKARD, POOSTEW, SKR8, CLUSTER BOMB UNIT, GREED KILLING, CAPTAIN CLEANOFF (AUS), BORN/DEAD (USA), YORPU (CZ), JACK SLATER, BACCHUS (IRE), TACHELESS, CYNESS, INTESTINAL DISEASE (BE), DOWNFALL OF GAIA and many many more. We also supported MALIGNANT TUMOUR (CZ) on their “Grind your Mind”-Tour in 2003 and participate on the “Metal Underground Madness Tour II” 2004 with KING’S-EVIL (JAPAN) and SCORNAGE and played on some Festivals: at the NOISEPOINT V, GRIND GOES BENEFIZ, MOSH IT UP VIII & X, ROCK AM EISLEK (LUX), FEKAL PARTY 2005 (CZ), GRIND THE NAZI SCUM 2008 and the POWER GRINDCORE VIOLENCE in 2009.
